Essential Stillpoint

Essential Stillpoint

About six months ago with the edema in my legs getting worse, I ran a search on the internet for "Lymph Massage Therapy" and "Lymphatic Therapy". As a result, Jan Olds entered my life. Jan is a licensed massage therapist in the Sugarhouse area. She does not work in a spa. She works in an office building that is centered around healing and wellness from what I have experienced. Her office is quiet, but plain. You don't go there to feel like you have escaped to the Caribbean. Jan's focus is on spiritual teaching and counseling, and uses it in her massage techniques.

At first I went to Jan every two weeks in order to really get my lymphatic system moving. After a few months I was able to cut back to about once every 3-4 weeks. Her massages are two hours minimum, and she charges $120 for the two hours. It's not cheap, but it works. It REALLY works.

On top of all that, Jan is great at challenging me intellectually and spiritually. She is respectful of my beliefs and understands them, but has been able to teach me to look at the world around me in a different light. She has coached me through some of my challenges - past and present - and I have learned a great deal about how I can help others without enabling them. It has been worth my time and money to go to her and I would recommend her to anyone who was looking for a true therapeutic massage.

  1. I have a similar woman in Utah County. The lymphatic massage can be brutal--it's definitely not a feel-good massage for relaxation and pampering, but if you need it and you get it, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

  3. See, just think of the price as for a massage and therapy session in one and it doesn't seem like so much!!!

    HAHA
I got a massage last week and have signed up to start going once a month. I have some major issues in my shoulder. Braulio is my new favorite person. =) He did say the first few times would be brutal....but once we get everything worked out and working together it would be much better!!! I'm just hoping it makes me feel better so I can be happier! HAHA I'm glad it's working for you.
