Today I went to my doctor to have bloodwork done. The same doctor I have gone to for years. The same doctor who prescribed me lasik for my Lymphedema back in 2007. I showed him my current state and he said, "They have created a Lymphedema Clinic. I am going to send you there."
Jaw hits the floor.
"Do you see a lot of Lymphedema now?"
Doctor: "Yes, it is becoming more frequent."
So yay! There is now a clinic, covered by insurance, that specializes in Lymphedema!
The sad part - it was created specifically for secondary Lymphedema, which usually occurs in Cancer patients. Which means that what I have - primary Lymphedema - has gotten attention because the Cancer rate has increased so much.
