My Tropical Strawberry Shakeology arrived on Saturday, so immediately my husband and I made up some to try it out. He loved it! I will continue with chocolate for the most part. :)
Because Tropical Strawberry Shakeology is Vegan, it is made with Brown Rice Protein instead of whey. If you have ever used Brown Rice Protein before, you know that it has a tendency to be a bit grittier. Tropical Shakeology is like that. It isn't overwhelmingly gritty, and mixed with almond or coconut milk, berries, and bananas it would make a difference. We just tried it basically straight with coconut milk. My husband isn't a huge chocolate fan, anyway, but for me it hits my mid-afternoon craving and gives me energy for my afternoon workout.
Tropical Shakeology is sweeter than the Chocolate or Greenberry. I can definitely taste the different fruits that have gone into it. I think it would be amazing for summer drinks and I think kids would like it better, because it is the fruity flavor. I will definitely be trying it out on them (I use half of the mix for my kids ages 6 and 8) to get additional nutrients into their bodies. I would rather they get the nutrients through food than through gummy vitamins.
I love love love the fact that it is Vegan. I have many lactose intolerant friends and family members who will benefit from the fact that it is lactose and dairy free. My mother-in-law doesn't do chocolate or milk products well, so she has been waiting to try out Tropical Shakeology (I will bring you a sample next week!) to see if it helps her. My neighbor also had tummy trouble when she drank Chocolate and Greenberry, so she is excited to try out Tropical. She also tried out Slim & Sassy Essential Oil by doTERRA and her tummy felt more normal with ONE glass of water than it had in years. I love it when I can help friends find natural remedies instead of spending money on prescriptions.
By the way, allergy season is coming up. A friend told me that a drop of lavender, a drop of peppermint, and a drop of lemon oil under the tongue clears them up. They are conveniently sold in the Intro Kit!
